Play Sugya (“Play Sugya,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a game-based platform for learning the language and mechanics of Gemara. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Account information, such as your name and email address, when you sign up or sign in.
Content you create while using Play Sugya, such as saved progress, answers, and preferences.
Payment information if you choose to donate. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card details on our servers.
Messages you send us, such as support requests or feedback.

Information collected automatically

Usage data, such as which lessons and challenges you complete, learning streaks, and app interactions, so we can track your progress and improve the learning engine.
Device and log data, such as browser type, IP address, and general analytics events, to help us understand how Play Sugya is used and to keep it secure.
Cookies and similar technologies, used to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand aggregate usage of the site.

How we use your information

To provide, maintain, and personalize your learning experience, including saving your progress.
To communicate with you about your account, updates, or support requests.
To process donations you choose to make.
To monitor, secure, and improve Play Sugya, including diagnosing technical issues.

We do not sell your personal information.

How we share information

We share information only as needed to operate Play Sugya:

With service providers who help us run Play Sugya, such as our database and authentication provider (Supabase), our payment processor (Stripe), and hosting/analytics providers — each bound to use your information only to provide their service to us.
If required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Play Sugya or its users.
In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you where required.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

Your choices and rights

You can access, update, or delete your account information from within your account settings.
You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
You can ask us to delete your account and data by contacting us.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information under applicable data protection law.

Children’s privacy

Play Sugya is used by learners of various ages, including through schools and educators. Where a student uses Play Sugya through an educational institution, we rely on that institution to obtain any consent required by applicable law. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
